Fimlab stops sending test results by post to underage private customers – results will be transferred to digital services

Fimlab will no longer send laboratory examination results by post to underage (0–17 years) private customers after the end of September. This change applies to cases where the examinations have been conducted with a referral from a private doctor.

How can results be accessed in the future?

  • The results will be automatically transferred to  MyKanta, where they will be available.

Change to guardian’s access to results from 1 October 2025

  • From 1 October 2025, guardians will be able to view laboratory results from examinations conducted at Fimlab for their underage child in MyKanta without separate consent to act on behalf of the child, if the examination was done with a referral from a private doctor.
  • If the underage child does not want the guardian to have access to the results, they cannot use Fimlab’s services as a private customer.
  • In the public healthcare system, the guardian’s right to view the child’s results can still be managed via consent to act on their behalf.
