Fimlab will send screening-related invitations and messages electronically starting September 17th, 2025
Starting from September 17th, 2025, Fimlab will primarily send invitations, reminders, and results for cervical and colorectal cancer screenings in electronic format.
If you have an electronic mailbox via Suomi.fi Messages or OmaPosti, Fimlab will deliver screening-related messages digitally and will no longer send paper letters to your home.
If you have not activated electronic communication, invitations and other messages will still be sent as paper letters by post.
What does this change mean for you?
If you belong to the group invited to cervical or colorectal cancer screening, you will receive the invitation* and other screening-related messages quickly and securely in your electronic mailbox. Using digital messages saves time, as they are delivered quickly and reliably to the correct recipient, and you can read them anytime, anywhere.
- Suomi.fi Messages can be accessed via the Suomi.fi mobile app or browser at suomi.fi/viestit
- OmaPosti messages can be accessed via the OmaPosti mobile app or browser at omaposti.fi
- Electronic screening-related messages contain the same information as previously delivered paper letters.
- Invitations, reminders, and responses related to screening are stored in one place – no more lost paper letters.
- You will receive an email notification whenever a new message arrives in your electronic mailbox. Remember to check your messages and follow the instructions.
- If you do not have an electronic mailbox, you will still receive screening-related messages from Fimlab as paper letters by post.
- Digital communication reduces emissions, costs, and paper handling.
*The initial invitation for colorectal cancer screening will still be sent by post, as it includes sample collection materials.
