Freedom of Choice Pilot: Welcome to Fimlab also with a referral from a private doctor

Freedom of Choice Pilot: Welcome to Fimlab also with a referral from a private doctor

The freedom of choice pilot for individuals aged 65 and over will begin at the start of September. During the pilot, those over 65 can visit selected private general doctors with a co-payment equal to the public healthcare client fee. If the doctor refers you for laboratory examinations, you may also visit Fimlab.

We recommend booking an appointment for your laboratory visit. When you arrive for sample collection, please bring your referral either electronically or on paper. After your visit, you will receive a printed summary of the examinations performed and their prices. The invoice for the examinations will be sent to you afterwards. The examination results will be transferred to MyKanta. You may also receive the results via the Fimlab mobile application.

The price list for examinations included in the freedom of choice pilot at Fimlab is aligned with the co-payment rates defined by Kela. The Kela reimbursement portion is already included in the examination prices, and no separate reimbursement is applied for afterwards (Fimlab’s laboratory examinations are not covered by Kela reimbursements).
