This is a DNA test on a urine sample to detect Chlamydia trachomatis, the bacterium that causes chlamydia, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the bacterium that causes gonorrhoeae. The test does not detect other sexually transmitted diseases or non-genital STDs, such as pharyngeal or rectal chlamydia and gonorrhoea infections. Please note that at least five days must have passed since you had unprotected sex. You must not urinate for at least two hours before the sample is taken. Do not wash the genital area before sample collection. If you take a urine sample at home, you will need to pick up a sample container from the laboratory.
