Pregnancy test from urine

The pregnancy test measures the placental hormone of the developing embryo, chorionic gonadotropin, which is secreted in the blood and urine of a pregnant woman. Pregnancy can usually be diagnosed on the first day of a missed period. The placental hormone levels may be too low to be detected if the urine is highly diluted during early pregnancy. It is recommended to collect the first urine of the morning for the test. A positive result confirms pregnancy. The result is also positive in the case of an ectopic pregnancy. Please note that Fimlab is not responsible for interpretation of the results. Abbreviation: U -hCG-O Examination code: 2124 Reference values: negative in healthy, non-pregnant woman and healthy man
