Blood glucose tests

Blood glucose tests are used to determine the current blood glucose levels (fP-Gluk) or the long-term glucose balance (B -HbA1c). The treating physician is always responsible for interpreting your results.

Name and abbreviation of test: GLUCOSE fP-Gluk

Blood glucose (fP-Gluk) is measured from a blood sample, which is collected after 10–14 hours of fasting. A blood glucose measurement indicates the post-fasting blood glucose levels. The reference range is 4.0–6.0 mmol/l.

Name and abbreviation of test: HAEMOGLOBIN-A1c B -HbA1c

Haemoglobin-A1c reflects long-term glucose balance. The test does not require fasting or morning sampling. The reference range is 20–42 mmol/mol (4.0–6.0%).
