FAECAL ALPHA-1 ANTITRYPSIN

The purpose of the test is to detect increased protein loss into the gut.

Sample collection

Defecate on a suitable surface. Spoon a stool specimen into a collecting container. The container should be half full.

Replace the lid tightly.

The name tag is necessary for identifying the sample

Stick a label on to the side of the sample container. Write on it your

  • name
  • social security number
  • date of sample

Seal the sample container inside a plastic bag. Store the sample in a cold place.

Deliver the sample to the laboratory on the next working day. The sample will keep for three days in the refrigerator.
