CHLAMYDIA TRACHOMATIS AND NEISSERIA GONORRHOEAE, NUCLEIC ACID (QUAL) FROM URINE

The sample is examined for potential causes of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae infections. It should be noted that in order to obtain a reliable sample, exposure (unprotected sex) must have occurred at least five days before the sample is taken.

Sample collection

Take the sample at least two hours after your last urination. Do not wash the genitals and anal area before sample collection.

Collect approximately 50 ml of the urine from the beginning of the stream into a clean sample container (no preservative). You can let the rest of the urine run into the toilet.

Open the sampling tube cap. The sampling tube contains a solution you must not pour away. Use the pipette included in the sampling set to move urine into the tube. Fill the tube until the liquid reaches the middle of the window on the side of the tube. NB: Do not overfill the tube. Replace the cap tightly. Turn the tube around five times. See the illustrated instructions included in the sampling set.

Deliver the sample to the laboratory as soon as possible. You can store the sample at room temperature.

The name tag is necessary for identifying the sample

Stick a label on to the sampling tube. Write on it your

  • name
  • social security number
  • date of sample
