Collecting the sample
Keep the tube at room temperature before collecting the sample.
Pass stool into a clean container.
Collecting the sample:
- Remove the cap from the tube.
- Collect a sample from stool with the swab and place the swab into the tube.
- Close the cap firmly.
Labelling the specimen
Mark the tube with
- your name
- your social security number
- the date of collection
Handling and storing the sample
Pack the tube in a plastic bag and store refrigerated.
Deliver the specimen to the laboratory.
