An automatic collection and return of sample containers has been introduced at Fimlab Ylöjärvi and Fimlab Äänekoski. Using the machine, a sample container can be collected and returned conveniently without taking a queue ticket. The container can also be collected and returned by taking a queue ticket and visiting the laboratory, as before.

A valid referral is required

To use the automatic collection and return of sample containers, the customer must have a valid referral issued by the wellbeing services county and must know which type of sample container to collect from the machine. This information is provided by the treatment unit issuing the referral.

The machine can be used by customers collecting or returning containers for the following urine and stool tests:

– Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (U -AlbKre)
– Basic urine tests (U -KemSeul, U -Solut, U -BaktVi)
– Faecal calprotectin (F -Calpro)
