Semen analysis
A semen analysis examines the volume of the semen, sperm concentration, total sperm count, sperm motility, and the presence of any antisperm antibodies.
Before providing a semen sample, there must be an abstinence period of 2 to 5 days since the previous ejaculation.

Post-vasectomy semen analysis
A post-vasectomy semen analysis is performed after a vasectomy (male sterilisation procedure) to confirm that no sperm are present in the semen.
The semen sample should be analysed no earlier than 12 weeks (3 months) after the vasectomy. Before the follow-up test, there should have been approximately 30 ejaculations to ensure that any remaining sperm have been cleared from the vas deferens.

Sperm freezing
Sperm freezing and storage are performed for medical reasons, such as before cancer treatments, hormone therapies, or a vasectomy (sterilisation) that may affect fertility. A referral from a physician is required for sperm freezing.
Before sperm freezing, the necessary blood tests must be completed. An exception is made for urgent sperm freezing procedures performed before cancer treatment.

You can find us at Arvo Ylpön katu 4. Please note that the entrance is on the Ensitie side of the building. We are located on the first floor.
Upon arrival at the Fertility Laboratory, please ring the doorbell at the sperm laboratory office to check in.
