Screening programmes, what do they mean? In this episode, we explain why screening programmes are carried out and why it is important for every Finn to participate when invited, even if they have no symptoms of disease. Screening programmes are an easy and free way to prevent serious diseases or detect them at an early stage, when treatment is more effective and easier.
The guests in this episode are Anu Mustila, Medical Director at Fimlab, and Satu Saloranta, Development Manager at Fimlab.
The purpose of the Fimlab Podcast is to explore laboratory-related topics from perspectives that are relevant and interesting to the general public. The first episode focused on pathology and the use of artificial intelligence in cancer diagnostics. The second episode discusses screening programmes and their impact on both individuals and society.
