Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. It is currently the most common sexually transmitted disease. The disease mainly causes symptoms similar to a urinary tract infection in both men and women, as well as cervicitis in women. However, the disease can also be completely asymptomatic. Chlamydia can be detected by performing a DNA test from a urine sample.
The earliest reliable time for sample collection is 5 days after exposure (i.e., unprotected sex).

This is a DNA test performed from a urine sample to detect chlamydia and gonococcus. Before the sample is collected, you should avoid urination for at least 2 hours. Do not wash the genital area before sample collection.
Around 50 ml of urine will be collected into a clean plastic container. A positive test result indicates that a chlamydia and/or gonococcal infection is present. A doctor’s appointment is always required after a positive test result.
